Designer Lirany Vasquez grew up aspiring to write for fashion magazines. However, after a stint in the publication industry, Lirany decided she no longer wanted to write about fashion but instead contribute something to it. In 2003, Lirany moved to New York to pursue her passion for jewelry design. After she designed a small collection of earrings and necklaces for a friend’s boutique Pretty Little Thing was born. PLT’s signature is mixing eclectic charm pieces with natural elements like glass, wood, metal, and semiprecious stones to create whimsical pieces that are feminine and surprising.
