Tennis phenomenon Fred Perry launched his legendary line of polos at the end of the 1940’s. The brand soon caught on with the fledging Mod movement and made the Fred Perry polo a fashionable option to wear out all night. With the addition of tipping to the collars and sleeves, the Fred Perry shirt instantly became the first crossover brand from sportswear to streetwear. To this day, the tipped Fred Perry polo has been one of the most enduring and affectionate relationships between British youth culture and a sportswear brand.
