ACNE Women’s Spring 2010 Collection
Earlier this month, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which meant six more weeks of winter for us. Although we would have very much liked to slip him a bribe to forget about his shadow, the good news is that it’s already been two weeks since his prediction, so daffodils and tulips and sweet morning dew are only a short month away. Meanwhile, our shelves are growing more vibrant by the day. Here’s a little glimpse at ACNE’s inspirations for their Women’s Spring 2010 Collection, available now at Gargyle.com:
“In Turbulent times, in times of great change, people head for the two extremes: Fundamentalism and personal, spiritual experience…”
For SS10, Acne has tapped into the nature of spirituality. The nature that appreciated the strength in a stone held for luck during a meeting, or the points of energy focused on in acupuncture. But this is not a religious collection, rather it concentrates on the new age concepts of empowering and enriching the individual. The New Age concept is loose and easily interpreted in many different ways by those who encounter it. Which is why Acne found it so inspiring- Faith, Religion, meditation and naturalism- each meaning something different from one person to the next, but all picking up the element that is relevant to them.
“… I might not be a super-spiritual person, but at this moment in time, it would be obtuse not to reflect on that world as there are elements of creativity and guidance that we rarely explore.”
